Description
The pandemic has shifted a massive amount of training online in one fell swoop. Most training organizations have simply switched over to live video conferences (VILT). But employees are starting to experience “Zoom fatigue”, a deadening effect on productivity and engagement, and counterproductive to organizations' goals.
This session will focus on exploring how new approaches to blended learning can break past barriers presented by VILT-based training. We will discuss how key learning dynamics can be incorporated into asynchronous and blended online learning environments that support sharing and dialog, practice and feedback, group collaboration, and mentorship. We can re-humanize online learning by putting people at the center and making the technology work for them, versus the other way around.
During this session participants will:
- Understand how our current reliance on live videoconferencing causes cognitive strain and is not sustainable for delivering our most crucial training programs
- Discover how key learning dynamics can be blended into a synchronous and asynchronous program that creates a rich, social, practice-focused learning environment
- Learn a 5-Step Process for crafting a blended program, with a case study from a practitioner using new techniques and technologies resulting in a high-engagement, high-impact training initiative
