Could it be that the Learning vendors are at it again? We had an LMS, but, apparently, we now need an LXP? More things to buy you might say. Well, I will confess that ‘marketectures’ get confused with true operational approaches to solving problems. Bottom line, there is a need for both as technology continues to advance and learning requirements continue to increase. As chronicled in Thomas Friedman’s book, Thank You for Being Late, Eric ‘Astro' Teller, CEO of Google X has decreed that technology is truly outpacing our ability to adopt it and his solution is a combination of good learning practices and effective applicability of governance. Maybe we can find our answer in that notion.
In this session, Brett Wilson, Senior Director of strategy and Value Services at Cornerstone will discuss the purpose and applicability of both the LMS and the LXP. Concrete and operational definitions will unveil and mystery behind these two approaches. The use of examples and case suites will clarify these positions.
